HP Business InkJet printers keep stopping.

I have a problem where periodically for no apparent reason all of the HP
Business Ink Jet 1200 printers on our network stop working at the same time.
I get the following event error on my print server.
No one can use any of the other printers until I either stop and start the
spooler service several times and/or restart the print server.

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Print
Event Category: None
Event ID: 6161
Date: 23/06/2006
Time: 10:27:48 AM
User: <domain>\%user
Computer: <server name>
Description:
The document < doc name> owned by %user failed to print on printer <printer
name>. Data type: NT EMF 1.008. Size of the spool file in bytes: 77444.
Number of bytes printed: 0. Total number of pages in the document: 1. Number
of pages printed: 1. Client machine: <print server name> Win32 error code
returned by the print processor: 5. Access is denied.

The Server is Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition.
SP1

The Hardware is an HP Proliant ML350

I have updated the drivers to the latest version and tried the HP universal
driver (which doesn't work at all) but the problem keeps reocurring

Any one have any ideas?
