Re: R2 Beta installation errors

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hey Rick,

All of my Disk 1 shows 566 MB (594,520,064 bytes).

I suggest that you try redownloading CD1.

Whenever I tried straight copy/pastes of either version, I get many errors
about "parameter not correct". So, it doesn't look like I'm going to be
able
to copy these off the CD. Can they be extracted from the downloaded ISO
images?

R2 Beta Trial:
Disk1 - x11-03905.iso 438514 KB
Disk2 - srv03_r2_2075_usa_x86fre_adsr2.iso 123838 KB

R2 Trial:
Disk1 - x11-03905.iso 221243 KB
Disk2 - srv03_r2_2075_usa_x86fre_adsr2.iso 123838 KB

Thanks.
Rick

You can just copy and paste the files from the CD to a network drive.
Also,
please see:

Also, please let me know the filesize of the ISO.

Registered and downloaded the files again.
I noticed that the file names are the same, but Disk 1 iso is
significantly
smaller. Disk 2 iso is same as beta.
Burned new CDs.

Disk 1 will not boot.
When I log on as the local admin and run the Setup program, the window
opens, but when I click on the "Install..." button, nothing happens.

Check the CD out in Windows Explorer and all the files are there.

So, I'm back to the original question:
How do you extract the files to a network share and try a network
install?

TIA
Rick

I am running the trial version as well. I had not problem installing
from
the two CD disks after burning them from the downloaded ISO files.
Sounds
like you have a corrupt download or possibly a hardware problem with
your
CD reader.
One test you can do is to try installing from the ISO files using a
virtual computer. If you get any errors then it would probably
indicate
a
bad ISO file.

Not sure what the none beta is, but I had followed the links on MS
site
for
trial software and ended up at the R2 Beta download page for
Windows
2003.

Registered, downloaded and burned the CDs, but it doesn't run
properly.

Could be the download.
Could be the Roxio software used to burn it to a CD-R disc.
Could be the files included in the iso file are corrupt.

Just wanted to know if there's another way to attempt to
load/evaluate
this
software.

Thanks.

What about the none beta version? Why are you trying to install a

a release version is available?
