OK, you are connecting from Branch Office to main Office. One of the
network printers is a ricoh, the other a sato, but when you say
"network" what does that mean? Is the Branch Office and Main Office on
the same network, or subnetted, or 2 different networks and what
network are the ricoh/sato on? are you saying all users who connect
with ricoh/sato printers do not get them to work on the terminal
server? I would highly recommend you read this:
http://www.brianmadden.com/content/content.asp?ID=62 to really
understand terminal server printing.
What I think is happening, is you have Branch Office computers, some
with local, some with "network" printers in that Branch Office that
connect to a terminal server in the Main Office that is on a complete
different network, most likely connecting via internet. So, you have
some users who have local printers that they can print to and some that
cant print to printers like the Ricoh. When you are making these
connections, the client printers, both local and network, are
considered "local printers" to the terminal server. So, the terminal
server will try and make the connection if the items from Daves post
are not applicable, and that you have connect printers as as option on
the client side, and if the terminal server has the correct driver or a
suitable compatible one, then you get the printer. If you do not get
the printer, the driver is not on the terminal server. When you
connect from the client to the terminal server, do you get any errors
in the system log on the terminal server? Such as Event ID 1111, with
text like "Driver HP LaserJet 2430 PCL 6 required for printer LaserJet
E is unknown. Contact the administrator to install the driver before
you log in again."? This error is because a client side printer is
trying to connect to a terminal server that does not have the HP 2430
driver installed.
