yes, it's a SBS 2003... and I think I got SP1 for SBS...
I'm using RRAS and I think I'm required to do so, because our server
seems to be working as I router... I'm not the one who did this server
setup and I'm also new to this version of windows...
I think that our server is working as a router because we have 2 NICs
on it (1 is set as local and the other one is set as internet
connection), we have a switch to connect our 10 workstations and a DSL
modem... if the server is off, workstations cannot have internet
access...
So I think we need that RRAS, am I right? is it possible to disable it
and then use a linksys router?
Yes DHCP is enabled for that connection (DSL internet connection).
Besides the "limited connection" warning, that connection is working as
if it is normal (??!! )
That's strange. Might be to do with the attempt to get the firewall running
on it.
What should I do?
Install an external firewall and also install another router so then I
can disable RRAS??
The reason for the firewall error is that IPNAT.SYS (part of RRAS) includes
a basic firewall. If you need to allow programs to bypass this firewall,
then you can use the following instructions:
http://www.sbslinks.com/group.htm
or read the document from MS about securing XP and SBS
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/sbs/2003/deploy/sbs_xpsp2.mspx
