Re: Server hardware replacement

It would be the Mirroring within Server 2003 if I understand you correctly.
i.e. Two dynamic drives and the configuration from Disk Manager.

Is it software controlled or managed?

There is a *HUGE* difference.

Following my previous thread on our server freezing, a decision has been
made to replace it. The server will run SBS2003 and Exchange 2003 and
will be a stand alone unit supporting 10-15 users. Raid protection is
essential, preferably Raid 1 with 2 x 250GB drives. The Dell SC430 seems
a good candidate but the SATA raid on this machine is software
controlled, which if I understand other postings here should be avoided.
I would appreciate the experts opinion on this, viz: Hardware or software
RAID, SATA or SCSI disks. I know Adaptec produce hardware Raid
controllers in both flavours.

TIA
