Printing preferences not updating for users
Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance
Hi,
We installed a color printer on the network and are sharing it through a
Windows 2003 server. On the server, the printer is installed as a TCP/IP
printer. After installing the printer on the user desktops (pointing to the
new printer shared name), we changed the printing preferences on the server
to default to Black/White printing. These printing preferences are not
showing on the desktops. In other words, when users print, it defaults to
Color printing. More interesting, when we delete and re-install the new
shared printer on the desktops the preferences are still showing Color
printing. We tested printing from the server to confirm that the printer was
configured for Black/White printing and that is the case. Do you have any
suggestions on how to update the new printing preferences on the desktops
from the server? Thank you. C
.
