If you've logged on to the domain before the profile/account is cached. If DC's are unavailable you will be able to logon with the cached copy.
Otherwise company laptops and such would be pretty worthless w/o you having 2 user accounts (one on the local machine and one on the domain).

Hi,.
I have configured a domain controller and added some computers and
users. System ran without giving any trouble. As I know when a domain
controller is introduced, machine have to be added to the server and
accounts have to be created, inorder to log into the domain. But today
I logged in to the domain account before my server even beeing plugged.
Still it's working. What is this? Is this something wrong or some
misconceptions that I have? please guide me out of this and direct me
to any resource that u may think will be useful to me. Thank u in
advance.
cheers,
Dilan
