Re: Cannot Upgrade to 2003 Standard R2

Hello,
You can upgrade an OEM version to a volume license if you run a full setup
starting with CD1 of R2(volume license media and volume license product
key).
You can also upgrade an OEM media with CD2 (volume license media) as long
as you have a OEM R2 product key,
CD2 is basically the same with OEM media or with Volume media, however the
correct product key for the underlying OS must be used to just upgrade
using CD2.

What you cannot do, is upgrade an OEM install using only CD2 and using a
Volume Product key.

You cannot change the product key(media type) of underlying OS without
running a full setup starting with CD1.

<According to the KB article, you should be able to upgrade an OEM
