Yes. When you first install you have the options to create your partitions.
You cannot do a software RAID on installation so you do have to return to
Disk Management and configure your software RAID once you have the OS
installed.

Is there a way to make the 2 partitions identical first, then mirror them
?

You need a RAID controllor card. You cannot do a hardware RAID
configuration with 2 physical drives using Disk Management. It will
only allow a software mirroring which means you can only mirror 2
identical partitions. Hense the reason why the mirroring option is
greyed out.

Hi,
I added a second ATA hard drive in my ftp server to mirror the
primary disk. In Disk management, the second drive appears as 37.27
GB unallocated but the first one is 37.28 GB NTFS. Both disks are
listed as dynamic. The "add mirror" option is grayed out on the
primary volume. Am I out of luck because of a 0.01 GB difference ? Is
there any MS or
third-party tool to resize the primary volume before mirroring ?
Thank you.
Pierrot
