Can you ZIP and upload the file windowsupdate.log?
Also if you are currently using the trial of W2k3 RTM, that could be the
issue. I'm not sure if you can update the trial of W2k3 RTM to W2k3 SP1, but
we should be able to see the exact error in the windowsupdate.log

It seems that you are running the trial of Win2003. Can you do a:
1. Start > Run
2. Type:
winver
Post the full version here. The trial of Win2003 already have SP1
slipstreamed.
But if you are referring to installing SP2 of Exchange, that's another
case.
But anyhow, let me suggest that you go to www.windowsupdate.com and
download the patches there. If your machine is up to date, it will not
prompt you to install any updates.

Hi Duane,
There isn't any SP2 for Win2k3. I suspect that you are installing the
SP2 that is for WinXP.
The latest Service pack for W2k3 is SP1.
Please visit http://www.windowsupdate.com and scan and let it install
whatever update it has.

I have been tring to do a sp1 update and sp2 update on my server. It
always fails install with no error code I can see.
OS Name Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
Version 5.2.3790 Build 3790 for testing purposes only
I have cd keys and licenses for win2k3 enterprise server but do not
recall how i ended upwith a test version. Could this be the reason sp1
and 2 will not install. What build number should I have? Will need to
do a new install to be able to update to the service packs
