Thanks for your reply Jabez, much appreciated
Q1 - we have EMC SAN environments with Dell servers running Windows 2003
Enterprise. We are running MS Cluster software in an active/active
environment for file shares. If one node fails then one physical server will
be running both virtual servers. Can the disk quota software failover on
cluster environments so that the one physical server knows about the quotas
for both virtual servers or is the quota information retained only on the
physical server?
Q2,3 & 4 - The command line tools are helpful. However they still take a
very long time. It took 12 minutes to list just 80 quotas (from about 300
quotas) and then I terminated the command as it was taking too long. I am
testing R2 on a virtual server - I know this will be slower than a physical
server but I don't believe it should be this slow. I have tested other disk
quota software such as Space Guard on a virtual server and that is almost
instant with 12000 quotas. It will be more difficult to test on a physical
server as the R2 demo will only run on an evaluation copy of Windows 2003 and
we don't have any new servers to put on an evaluation copy.
