You dont need WINS unless you have legacy clients (i.e. win98)
What are some of the error you are recieving pertaining to the master
browser (forced elections?)

Re: Event 8003 on DCs ... Saw that KB, however, in our case, a member server became the Master ...Browser, not a workstation. ...
