Hi Katie,
this could e.g. happen if one computer has statically configured IP address
(not assigned by DHCP) that is also in DHCP pool. This can be prevented by
configuring e.g. Windows 2003 DHCP to detect conflicts. In this case if DHCP
would detect a conflict it would not lease out an IP address.
