Re: Windows task scheduler keeps stopping

Hello Simon,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

>From your post, before we go further, please help me collect the following
information so that we can perform further research:

1. Can you start the Task Scheduler service in Service Control Manager?
Have you received any error message when you start the service? If so,
would you please send me a screen shot of the error message so that I can
perform further research?
To take a screen shot:
---------------------
1) Press the Pr Scrn key once on the keyboard when the error message
appears.
2) Click Start, go to Run, enter MSPAINT in the open dialog box, and then
Click OK.
3) Use Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot to the canvas.
4) From the File menu, go to Save and save it as a JPG file.
5) Send the JPG file to me as an attachment.
My mailbox: v-kzhao@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

2. Can the batch files run scheduled on other machines?

3. As far as I know, there is a Task Scheduler log file that lists all past
scheduled tasks under all users, including members of the Administrators
group and the System account. The file is located in the \Windows\Tasks
folder, and is named SchedLgU.txt. For related information, please refer to:

In addition, you may refer to the following article to troubleshoot:

To provide further assistance, could you help me confirm the following
information?
1. Have scheduled tasks ever worked?
2. What happens if you schedule notepad.exe or calc.exe?
3. What happens if you delete and recreate the scheduled task?
4. What happens if you use the AT.EXE command to schedule a job, does it
run then?

I am standing by for your feedback. If anything is unclear, please let us
know.

Thanks & Regards,

Ken Zhao
