serc controller no good three weeks old .

I have a brand new Dell Poweredge 1800,
I was having trouble configuring the Veritas tape backup software and
decided to restart the system.

When the system was rebooting, I found no controller other then the
tape controller, it was then trying to network boot.

I tried restarting a few times and then got on the phone to Dell
support,
The tech support person guided me thru removing and reconnecting the
hard drive cables etc, then removing and resetting the controller in
pci slots,
Re started, still nothing,
He then instructed me to remove the card and try a new PCI slot,
re started Still nothing...
Has anyone seen a controller card go bad in three weeks ?
