Load Balancing DHCP...
Hello newsgroup!
We have a Windows 2000 domain with 2 DC that are also DHCP/DNS servers.
Our DHCP configuration is load balanced: each DHCP machine serves the
half of the IP range. We have a switched network and a single subnet.
Could someone explain me :
- Why only one DHCP seems to answer to DHCP requests ?
- Is there a tool, a way to monitor the DHCP traffic (Ethereal on a
hub) ?
What is the best method to have a fault tolerance infrastructure on
DHCP servers? Load balancing ? Cluster ? Replication with a stand-by
server ?
Thanks a lot for your answers!
Sebastien
