Recently my exchange server C drive storage capacity suddenly full. After checking, I found out that was a unknown file in C drive with strange name and funny file extension. The file came with huge size and occupy whole C drive. This causes exchange system not working properly and my client get a bounce back email. I am really no idea where was this file came from. This happen since and once at 25th of August 2005 and it happen few times in this month (September 2005). I have tried to check at Event Viewer, but nothing indicate that file belong to which application. The file size was keep growing from few Megabytes to almost 3 Gigabytes (My C drive free space is 2.67 Gigabytes). At first, I thought my system infected by virus, but after did virus scan there was no virus in the system. That file took about 2 hours to one day to disappear and my C drive back to normal free space. This happenned randomly in the past few weeks and will happen again in future unpredictably. Does anyone has a same problem with me? Please give some advises. Your assist are much appreciated. My current system is Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 and Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 1. I have some screen shot of C drive storage capacity, but i don not know how to publish to your guys. Please give advise.

I have tried the Stinger to scan my server and i can not find a virus in my system.
Hi,
Try restarting the server and scanning for viruses is safe mode
To scan for Spyware - download adaware from dowload.com also download and install the latest defitions file from download.com - when download and installed - perform a full system scan in safe mode.
