Re: C Drive os oit of space...... Is there a way to add to it...

I am not sure what you decided, but here is my .2 cents. You have a couple
of options.
1) Try the link (or something similar) to resize partitions. This may or
may not work for you in the long run. Furthermore this is an additional
expense that should not be. Or
2) You can rebuild the server.
With the server rebuild you have a few options that will help expedite the
process and get you back where you are now, but with more disk space. My
recomendation is the rebuild.

I am taking the following into consideration. A) this machine has multiple
disks that are in a RAID 5 configuration. That these disks are one disk to
the hardware, but partitioned in the OS. B) that this is NOT a DC.
Is this machine a DC? Is it the only DC? If it is the following steps will
work, but with some additional steps BEFORE you start.
First of all do a complete backup. Be sure to back up the "system state."
IF you backup to tape make sure you have the software/drivers to reinstall
your tape drive etc. If not (and this is recommended) make sure you
move/copy the backup to a machine (workstation or server) that has enough
disk space that is on the network.
Second, after the backup is complete, after it is moved, begin the rebuild
process. You should not have to reconfigure the RAID, just the way the OS is
using the disks. This time make sure that there is enough space for growth
;).
After the rebuild reinstall your backup software/tape drivers etc. Do a full
system restore or selective restore of the files that you want back on there.
You may decide to reinstall some apps or something and the restoration of
that app may not be where you would like it. This can be done while the
server is presently running. The files that need to be replaced will be upon
reboot.
After the reboot you should be right where you were before the rebuild, only
with more space on C.

Please respond and let us know what the outcome is.
