Logon Screen Object Does Not Appear On Server's Local Monitor

This is intended for the managed news group monitors to resolve:
I have two Windows Server 2003-SP1 AD/DCs that are connected to a Rariton
multi-switch (PS2 type connector). When I switch to server-1 I get the Gray
Background Screen with the Logon Window and this is the normal behavior.
When I switch to server-2 I only get the Gray Background Screen with NO
Logon Window. The mouse pointer is visible and can be moved but NO Logon
Window appears no matter what key/key-combination I try.
I can access the server-2 via remote logon, I get the Logon Window and I can
logon remotely from my workstation. I can also access all of the server-2's
operating system applications such as Event Viewer, Services etc. from
server-1.
But I can not logon directly to server-2 because the Logon Window does not
appear on the local monitor. This is the first time I have ever seen this
problem. For months I have been able to switch between the two servers using
the Rariton multi-switch.
Can you help me determine if there is a resolotion I can try without
re-booting to get the local logon screen to appear?
At this point I am not convinced that re-booting will solve the problem.
This is a production sever so any re-booting would need to be scheduled.
