I currently have a server based at a datacenter running web services, email
etc... It's a domain controller also.
I'm in the process of trying to migrate all the data to a new server at a
different facility but am having trouble.
I"m trying to make the new server a domain controller for the domain, then
demote the existing server so i can then start to get the rest of the data
off it so it can be decomissioned.
However, when I try to dcpromo the new server, I get "rpc server
unavailable" - anyone else tried to do a similar thing before? Any ideas how
to get around it?
