RE: VPN connection cannot view the network remotely

Hey there,

I had the same problem when I setup a VPN at my school. The problem is the
built in firewall on the XP laptop.

When you setup the VPN connection on the laptop, it automatically enables
the firewall for that connection, and this prevents the laptop from getting
the correct DNS information. Open network connections, and open the
properties page for that VPN connection. Go to the 'Advanced' tab, and click
on 'Settings'. Go to the 'Advanced' tab and uncheck the VPN connection. This
disables the Windows Firewall for that connection.

I do not know why this works, but I found that this solved the problem, so
I'm happy, LOL.

Hope that helps,
Stephen.
