Todd, thanks again for help and advice. I've now tried to run GPedit.msc on
a Windows Server 2003 SP1 domain controller, and on 2 Windows XP
Professional SP2 machines. Same results. The description for the User
Configuration/Windows Settings says "This node has file subnodes: Folder
Redirection, Security Settings, Scripts, Remote Installation Services, and
Internet Explorer Maintenance". I see only four subnodes on the domain
controller and 3 on Windows XP (no Folder Redirection or Internet Explorer
Maintenance)
One thing I do find curious is a description for the Computer
Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/Group Policy/Folder
Redirection Policy Processing. It says "You can only set folder redirection
policy for Group Policy objects, stored in Active Directory, not for Group
Policy objects on the local computer." I was assuming that when I run on a
domain controller GPedit was working against objects in the Active
Directory. However, when I look at it I can see "Local Computer Policy" as
the top node in the MMC console.
