I would use Remote Desktop to manage the workstations remotely.
For interactive sessions you could use Remote Assistance, as
mentioned by Stuart, or WinVNC in reverse mode for PCs other
than WinXP. The reverse mode has the advantage that the client
initiates the action, thus avoiding the feeling that "big brother" might
be watching him.
