I don't know if this is the correct place to post this, if not please excuse
the bandwidth and point me to the right place.
I am trying to create a web page on the company intranet web site with a map
of the office and the location of printers such that one could click on the
printer icon w/ a hyperlink to a network printer and thus become attached to
the printer. The printers are shared via a 2003 server, the web page was
constructed in Visio. The page loads OK but when I try to click on the
printer icon the page halts for about 45 seconds and then an error message
box pops up "Internet Exoplorer cannot open the Internet site
http://myintranetweb/myprinterpage.htm. Operation Aborted" The page loads
fine otherwise and I can pan an zoom around no problem, the problem only
occurs when I try to link to the printer. I have used the following syntax
for the URL:
\\printerserver\printer
http://printerserver/printer
all help is appreciated.
Thanks,
David H
.
