Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry
1) Open the Registry editor: Start > Run > Regedit or regedt32
2) Navigate to:
HKey_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version
3) Double-click the WINLOGON key
4) On the resulting window, change the values for:
Autoadminlogon to 1
Defaultusername - enter username
Defaultpassword - enter password
5) Ensure that DontDisplayLastUserName value is set to 0.
Note: TweakUI, a free download from Microsoft, can also be used to do this.
