Thanks for your answer Arek.
Yes, the users should be able to work with the subfolders and files within the projectnumber-folders but when they accidentally drag and drop one projectfolder into another one, it should not move anything.
Ik have tried also tried to clear the permission inheritance from the parent folders, but can't seem to apply rights that will do the job.
An easy way of explaining what I want is by example: Say I have 5 folders, they are project 1 to 5 (subfolders of the folder 'projects', which is shared). I want them to be fixed at the place where I've put them so when a user tries to shift folder 2 into folder 4 for example, nothing will happen (also the subfolders and files stay put). Though I do want the users to be able to work with the subfiles and folders (rename, modify, etc).
Oh, now I see. What you have to do is grant users Read & Execute plus Write permission only to Projects folder. That should take care of it. If you give them anything more than that, they will be able to move folders as well.
On top of that, for each of the specific project subfolders (say 1-5, to follow your example) you can use a special group called Creator Owners and assign them Modify permission to each of the subfolders. Before you do so, make sure you uncheck permission inheritance for each of the project subfolders (those 1-5). This should work.
On a share level you can give them Change permission and you should be set.
