Depends on what files you are sharing, but generally no. You can
install over with Windows 2003 without repartitioning or reformatting
the existing volume and then just configure a new share for your
current data. Of course back-up everything before you attempt this.
Honestly you'd be better off migrating/backing up the shared data off
the machine and then performing a clean installation. My two cents...
