Well, in order for them to be able to save anything in that folder you will need to give them at least Write permission. That will allow them to overwrite the file, change its attributes and view ownership, as well as view the permissions set on that file. They won't be able to delete it.
Since you mentioned shared folder, it is worth noting that in case of shares the cumulative permissions apply (both share and NTFS ones), where the most restrictive take precedence. For example, if you assign Read permission on a share level and Write permission on the NTFS level, they will be only able to Read the content of the folder.

Hi all. I would like to know if it is possible to set permissions on a shared
folder existing on a win2003 server such that other users which are not
domain administrators can move files to this shared folder but not allowed to
edit files on this shared folder. These users are also allowed read access
rights.
