Hi,
I have been having problems uninstalling software on my Exchange 2003
server which runs on Windows 2003 server.
The uninstall process starts and then hangs part way through. The
service will continually take 25% of the processor but doesn't go
anywhere. I have left it for 2+ hours without any change in the
uninstall process.
Eventually I terminate the msiexec service. If I then try again I get
a message saying "...previous installation for this product is in
progress. You must undo the changes made by that installation to
continue. Do you want to undo those changes?" If I answer No,
nothing happens and if I answer Yes it starts the uninstall process
again but then hangs. I have also tried restarting the server, etc
with no change in the uninstall process.
When this problem originally occurred when uninstalling iHateSpam
(spam filter) I assumed it was related to that program and ended up
having to remove all of the iHateSpam keys from the registry to
uninstall. However, now that it is occurring when trying to remove
Legato Networker (backup software) I'm thinking that it must be
related to the OS.
Any ideas on how to resolve this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Karen
