How do I force WinXP & 98 clients to log onto a specific AD DC ser

We have a hub and spoke (or branch office) Active Directory
infrastucture with over a hundred remote sites in one domain. I have been
migrated the sites from NT 4.0 into one Windows 2003 domain. I have recently
migrated one of sites (a very large one) with two class C subnets. I have
only one domain controller though (for now) that resides on one of the
subnets. I need to make sure that both Win98
(with DSclient installed) and WinXP clients on the other subnet (without a
DC) do not try to authenticate to any of the servers in the central office
(the hub) but that they all connect to the local DC that is on the other
subnet. Can I define the logon server either by IP address or by name? Is
there a registry setting that I could modify or add, to allow me to specify
the DC for Win98 and WinXP
clients to log into?
