Windows 2003 Server
I am posting this message on the behalf of a co-worker, so I do not have all
the details of the issue myself. He is working on a problem with FTP'ing a
file that is over 2GB in size, and is getting the following error:
Inode is remote
I asked if it is absolutely necessary to FTP such large file, and he says
that there is no way around it. The file is a backup job. The backup
creates the file, and once the backup is complete, the file gets sent via
FTP. I'm a bit fuzzy on WHY the file needs to be sent FTP, but I'm told
that part of the process cannot be changed, so there you have it.
We found a couple of articles on Google which indicate that the built-in
Windows 2003 Server FTP client (which is what they are using to FTP this
file) cannot handle files larger than 2GB. Is there any way around that
file size limit?
Any help that you can offer will be greatly appreciated!
