Well, you can certainly create the NTFS permissions you desire for User1 -
you may have to use the Advanced tab features to get them exactly right.
The problem is that if User1 accesses the User1 folder through the shared
Public folder, his best effective permissions are Read only. You have 2
choices:
1. Give User1 additional Share permissions on the shared Public folder; or
2. Share the User1 folder separately with appropriate Share permissions for
User1 and have User1 connect to the new share.
