The backup module with Server 2003 seems confusing. Our tapes have old data
on them and I want to save a clean backup each time, overwriting the old, but
it seems to always want to append data, and the tapes fill. Is there a
setting to reformat a tape each time it runs? I'm sure I clicked the setting
to overwrite, but still the tapes contain all sorts of old stuff when
examined in the restore tab. I wish this module had a progress report like
the Veritas program, listing bytes backed up, time, errors, etc., but I don't
find that at all. Should I reformat each tape manually before scheduling a
new backup job? What is the best way to verify that the backup was
successful? Thanks for comments!
