I need to install SQL server on my MOM 2005 box.
For any db install, It is recommended to split log files disk location from
db location for better performance.

The existing (40GB) LUN drive available to my server is a Raid 5
configuration.
There are two disks on the local server configured as Raid1. I have the OS
installed on that Raid1 array as well.

In my situation, is better install the log files on the localserverArray and
db on the SAN drive ? Or should I put the whole data and log files on the
SAN ?

In my case I will have long delays if I ask the SAN folks to re-arrage the
arrays for me, so I would like to see if I can be OK as is now.
