Did you change anything recently software or hardware wise that might have
caused this? Are you using this format "SERVERNAMEHERE\Administrator" to
change permissions for/locate the local admin account?

I'm not sure if you are working with the Domain Controller here and what
kind of domain privileges you have, but Active Directory makes it easy to do
this kind of stuff. If you can, log onto the domain with domain admin
privileges and then from Active Directory of Users and Computers add the
local server admin to Domain Users or Domain Admins group.
