I've read many posts in this group from people who are running Windows
Server 2003 (doesn't seem to matter if it's Enterprise or Standard)
and can't get the Task Manager icon to show up in their system tray
when they minimize it.
Chalk me up as one of those people. I haven't yet seen any responses
that indicate that Microsoft has really acknowledged and/or provided a
fix for this problem. Does anyone here have information to the
contrary? I'd love to be wrong in that assumption. :)
My situation is similar to others whose posts I've read. I've just
installed Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, and the icon showed
up at first. However, somewhere along the line (I think it was after
I installed SQL Server 2000), it simply stopped appearing when
iconified. Anyway, I know there are alternative products that will do
the same thing. I'd rather just see the functionality fixed in
Windows, as that offering, when working, is sufficient for what I
need.
Thanks,
Kevin
