No, it is not safe to access the file system of a hibernated system. Parts
of the file system are still in RAM, or actually in hiberfil.sys, while
hibernated and any changes of the files on disk will result in a corrupt
file system.

In your case, some boot files on your Server partition might be corrupt,
disabling your system to boot.

>From XP, delete the Server c:\hiberfil.sys, and then perform a repair of
your Server installation by booting from your Win2003 CD and using the
Recovery Console. Don't forget to change boot order first.

Also, don't forget to 'shut down' XP instead of hibernating.
