Hi There,

I have a client who I am installing a brand new dell server for.

They use some software that is java based and connects to an access db for
all their invoicing and every day functions.

When I try starting the software I get an error about SQL connecting to the
db and in the message says access denied when connecting to 127.0.0.1
(something similar sorry dont have the box here).

Long story short I can only assume this is a file level permissions or
windows 2003 firewall related... however I am not sure and could use some
input.

I noticed when you right click on the root folder for the program "read
only" is checked up slightly greyed out? I have tried resetting the
permissions for everyone on the folder to full control but this doesnt seem
to work.

I also noticed that there are some permission levels I can not reset and
give full control to "this folder, subfolders, and all other files".

I think this is all the information I have for now.

I am wondering 2 things really.. is there is a way to completely open a
directory in 2003 SBS as far as permissions are concerned? Is there is a way
to completely disable the firewall?

This location does not have a net connection, however when I originally set
up the server it was on a ded. connection in my office so I could download
updates etc.

Anyone have any ideas here?

Thanks much,

Jake
