Hi,

As mentioned above I tried the fix mentioned above for the DTC errors
I'm described in my earlier post.

First of all, it looks like the "Dtclog" directory mentioned in the
above webpage doesn't even exist in Windows 2003.

I went ahead and created a "c:\windows\system32\Dtclog" directory, and
an empty "msdtc.log" file in that directory. I then did the "msdtc
-resetlog", and rebooted, and no longer got the DTC errors in Event
Viewer.

Now, I'm really puzzled, so if anyone has any info on this, I'd
appreciate finding out about this:

- Why does this problem only seem to appear when Win2K3 is run on a
multi-processor system?

- Why does the fix work, when the "Dtclog" directory doesn't seem to
even exist in a "normal" Win2K3 installation?

- Perhaps the thing that really fixes this problem is the "msdtc
-resetlog", but again, why is this not necessary for Win2K3 on a
single-CPU system but necessary on my 4-cpu system?

Thanks,
Jim
