Allen,

Thanks for the reply. I found no explanation on the
Symantec support website for the absence of right-click
virus scanning through Remote Desktop. I could not find a
Symantec only newsgroup so I thought this board might be
a logical place to try next.

Regarding your question: "Why don't I just enable auto-
protect?" The remote client I wish to scan is in an
isolated, firewalled, and very low-risk section of a
private network. However this computer is constantly
performing very CPU and disk intensive data processing
and I have found from experience that the antivirus auto-
protect setting interferes with the computer's normal
operation. Instead, I choose to perform selective,
individual scans. I am prepared to accept this level of
calculated risk.

Alas, I have been unable to perform these individual file
scans remotely using Symantec Corporate edition. Note: I
can perform right-click virus scans through Remote
Desktop with the desktop version of Norton Antivirus. So
far however, I can't reproduce this with the corporate
version.
