We are receiving this error message on client machines
however the machines were successfully accepted and
enrolled on the domain can anyone suggest why this is
    happening.

The error msg in the application log are:

Automatic certificate enrollment for local system failed
to contact the active directory (0x8007054b). The
specified domain either does not exist or could not be
    contacted.
      Enrollment will not be performed.

Windows cannot obtain the domain controller name for your
computer network. (The specified domain either does not
exist or could not be contacted. ). Group Policy
    processing aborted.

The error msg in the server log are:

This computer was not able to set up a secure session
with a domain controller in domain FINANCE due to the
    following:
There are currently no logon servers available to service
    the logon request.
This may lead to authentication problems. Make sure that
this computer is connected to the network. If the problem
persists, please contact your domain administrator.

    ADDITIONAL INFO
If this computer is a domain controller for the specified
domain, it sets up the secure session to the primary
domain controller emulator in the specified domain.
Otherwise, this computer sets up the secure session to
any domain controller in the specified domain.

    and

The Security System could not establish a secured
connection with the server cifs/LEGAL. No authentication
    protocol was available.

    and

The Security System detected an authentication error for
the server cifs/LEGAL. The failure code from
authentication protocol Kerberos was "There are currently
no logon servers available to service the logon request.
     (0xc000005e)".

I have never had these problems with Windows server 2000
so it seems that it is an activeserver problem. If anyone
can point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

    Thank Anton

PS We have searched through other peoples issues on the
newsgroup and it would suggest that we need to set up our
    DNS?
