If Windows doesn't see the free space, then Diskpart cannot extend the
partition. It is important that the new hard disk is added to your current
container in the Compaq tool, and initialized. I think that Compaq calls
this "expanding the array". If this is done correct, Windows should see it
as free space on the current disk, enabling Diskpart to extend your
partition to this free space.

Unfortunately, I haven't used Smart Array, or the tools included, so I
cannot guide you through the exact steps needed. Perhaps the storage forum
