Mike,
Thanks so much! Fixing the DNS in AD solved the problem. SORT OF! <G> I
can now get to the Internet from the laptop, and I was able to get it to
join the domain,, but now when I go to log into the domain, it stalls for a
long time, and then won't log in, no matter who's log-in name I use. It
stops at the Please Wait. Loading Personal Settings" box. I had to run to
another client, and didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked
on it, so I will go back tomorrow and see what I can try. Any quick ideas
what this might be now?

Either way, I can't thank you enough for solving the problem for me!

Alan
