Hi,
NetBIOS should not resolve the problem, but it could cause it if it was
installed.
Can you also do one if this things. Take an IP from existing system that
works (e.g. take IP from Toshiba -- even if it was DHCP assigned). Before
you take it, check that you can surf the internet and connect to Win2K AD
server from Toshiba. Then shut down the Toshiba and assign your laptop same
parameters (same IP, same subnet mask, same DNS and same default gateway).
Try and see what happens...
Check the time and date on the client (your laptop) and check the time on
the Win2K AD server. They should be same (difference should not be more then
5 minutes).
Where is Win2K server DNS setting point at? It should point back at itself
(server's own IP should be under TCP/IP settings -> DNS server setting) if
AD server is also DNS server.
Check that AD DNS service is running and restart NetLogon service on AD (Don
't disable the service, just restart it).
