It's a Compaq/HP SAN-in-a-box, not a bad little entry level SAN.
Access to LUNs on a SAN is controlled via Zoning on the fibre network. You
zone the WorldWideName(WWN) of the fibre card in the server to the LUN that
you create on the SAN. A LUN is just the SAN terminology for the drive array
that you create. You should never create a zone where two servers see the
same LUN, this will cause a lot of issues.
The only time where a zone is shared is in the event of a tape library. Ok,
that's not totally true, you can have a cluster with shared disk on the SAN,
but this is a pretty specific case.
