Here is the real solution to this...
Swiped from http://www.jsiinc.com/SUBP/tip7700/rh7721.htm

After applying a Windows Update, you are unable to logon to your
domain.

If you try to join a workgroup, you receive:

The Revision Level is Unknown.

To workaround this behavior:

01. Log on locally with Administrator privileges.

02. Use the registry Editor to grant the your account Full Control of
the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SECURITY\Policy\Secrets\$MACHINE.ACC registry
key.

03. Delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SECURITY\Policy\Secrets\$MACHINE.ACC
registry key.

04. Shutdown and restart your computer.

05. Log on locally with Administrator privileges.

06. Join a WORKGROUP and restart your computer.

07. Log on locally with Administrator privileges.

08. Join your domain.

09. Shutdown and restart your computer.

10. Logon to your domain.
