IDE CD-ROM now gone

My W2003K stopped seeing the IDE CD-ROM. I can boot to it using the setup
CD. I can go into recovery console and see it. But it doesn't show up in
Explorer. The device manager shows an icon next to it with an exclamation
mark on a yellow background. If I uninstall it and then run the hardware
wizard, it's found, but I end up with the same results. Any ideas? It used
to work just fine. I haven't installed any new hardware on this machine. And
I don't see it in safe mode, either.
