Hi,
I need help with my problems.
I installed Windows 2003 Standard Edition on Intel Serverboard SE7501HG2 with Dual Xeon 3.2 Ghz Processor. It is a DC. I install AD, DHCP, DNS, WINS and Exchange 2003 Standard Edition. I use 3 GB memory so I think it should be no problem and using PROMISE RAID UltraTax SX4000 - so space is also not an issue.
Everything was fine for 2 days, then suddenly out of nowhere, my server keeps restarting itself. Event Viewer doesn't record anything.
The sympton of the restart it looks like someone press the RESET button on the server, afterwards it just came back up by itself.
I have patch and updated all windows 2003 and exchange 2003. I also use the latest firmware, drivers, etc.
First of all, we think it is the power supply. We tested, nay ...
Then we think it is the memory, nope ...
Then we actually found that if the PROMISE RAID is busy, that is when the crash usually happened,
We have also check for virus and nay ...
so we think must be something to do with the RAID box.
So We install on another machine this time without the RAID box (it has internal RAID this time). We thought we solve the problem, but while we transfering some data over the network, it does it again.
Which point that MAYBE the PROMISE RAID box is not the culprint, must be something else.
Could anyone come with a suggestions?
BTW, everything is working fine, except the restarting problem. even Exchange, OWA, DNS, DHCP, AD, Printer Server and File Server.
Please email me at robbys@moranfurniture.com.au
Thank You
