We have just upgraded from NT4 to windows 2003 server and some of our users
are experiencing problems saving updates to excel files - "file not saved"
errors.
They have modify permissions to both the shares and file permissions
I have tried turning off both the index service and volume shadow copy
serves - neither makes a difference
also tried disabling the server anti-virus for that folder - also no
difference
The Excel KB articles talk about delete and rename and create permissions
(which all work - tested from explorer) and the use of temporary files
Other application files (ie word, ppt and others) all work fine
Has anyone seen this behavior and know a fix
thanks
Adam
