Hello all,
I recently set up a VPN link for some remote users to
access our sever using a Netscreen NS5GT.
The VPN link works fine as far as I can tell, and remote
users have access to all the shared folders on our
server - with one exception! One of the shared folders is
a DFS root and contains several DFS links within it
amongst other locally stored folders. This is the only
folder that remote users cannot access. Every time the
same error message is returned -
"\\servername\folder is not accessible. You might not
have permission to use this network resource... blah blah
blah ...The network path was not found."
I can't understand why this is happening as the
permissions on this folder are identical to those on the
accessible folders. In addition to this, remote users can
navigate to the server which the DFS links point to, but
the folders i really need them to access are within the
DFS root folder, but not DFS links and since they can't
get into the folder there is no way for them to access
what they need.
Clear as mud? It is to me to.
Any help most gratefully received,
Tom
